Part almanac, part field guide, part outdoor curriculum, and part mindfulness practice, the Mindful Naturalist invites you to step into deeper relationship with the rhythms of the natural world. Whether it’s the return of the swallows, the bloom of camas, or the sound of snow geese overhead on their journey south I will help you to to slow down, pay deep attention, and build lasting connections with the place you live by weaving together ecology, reflective practices, and simple activities that encourage playful exploration.
As a naturalist and longtime educator with over twenty years of experience in teaching biology, ecology, and environmental science, I bring both professional expertise and personal passion to this project. My background grounds this blog in scientific integrity while keeping it warm, playful, and accessible to a broad audience. My goal is to curate a dynamic, living collection that busy parents can turn to for playful hands-on activities with their children, teachers and homeschool groups can use to guide your nature study, and anyone can explore to deepen their understanding of the creatures, landscapes, and traditions that make the natural world so extraordinary.
